R&D in ITRI

ITRI is considered as a one of the Taiwan’s main centers of Research and Development. Founded in 1973, it pioneered in IC development and started to nurture new tech ventures and deliver its R&D results to industries. ITRI has set up and incubated companies such as TSMC, UMC, Taiwan Mask Corp., Epistar Corp., Mirle Automation Corp., and Taiwan Biomaterial Co. ITRI’s expertise comes from over 6000 employees, who are provided with the high-end research facilities. As result, ITRI was able to register over 30000 patents, transfer over 600 technologies, and provide over 19000 services to local and global companies. Currently, ITRI puts its research focus on the smart technologies, health, and sustainable environment. These main development axes are supported by the progress in the novel materials, semiconductors, electronics, and Artificial Intelligence solutions. Under TLEOSIA scheme, ITRI is welcoming industrial partners to apply the most recent innovations to the marketable product or processes.

International R&D Projects

Taiwan is a recognized technological hub, with unparalleled expertise in research, design, and manufacturing. Our economy is built on the idea of global trade. Taiwan’s growing importance of the technological map, attracted companies from all over the world to secure the supply of the high-tech components on the island.

The cooperation often combines the research and development. TLEOSIA, as the integrator of the local space industry, academia and policy makers, creates the platform for the foreign stakeholders to participate in the local ecosystems.

 
Current Programs openings

As for the 2023, TLEOSIA welcomes partners to participate in cooperation within the following programs:

Horizon Europe: calls related to the digital and emerging technologies, especially in the domain of microelectronics. In this program, TLEOSIA aims in connecting the world-leading ICT research and manufacturing in Taiwan with our European partners, in order to develop the space technologies of the future.

EU EUREKA (Globalstars): program for SME in Europe which are willing to develop the product or service, together with their Taiwanese partners. Current calls are open for the companies from Poland, Slovakia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Czechia, The Netherlands, UK, and Luxembourg.
